  • New animated Addams Family movie on the way: MGM is developing a new animated version of everyone’s favorite spooky ooky family with Sausage Party’s Conrad Vernon directing and Pamela Pettler, a screenwriter on Monster House and Corpse Bride, writing the script.
  • Hulu streaming Futurama: It was recently announced that SyFy would be broadcasting the original run of Futurama soon and now the show has a new streaming home as well as Hulu has gotten the exclusive rights to every episode of Futurama, including the Comedy Central revival and the movies.  They will be available on Monday, October 16th.
  • Hulu drops rate for new subscribers: Just in time for binging on all that Futurama, Hulu has dropped it’s monthly price for new subscribers to $5.99 a month for a year.  This is for the basic plan with commercials, it’s still $11.99 a month for commercial free viewing or they have their live TV plan for $40 a month that is basically like having a cable plan.
  • Gambit gets a release date and director: The Channing Tatum led Gambit solo movie is apparently back on track as it’s gotten a February 14th 2019 release date and director Gore Verbinski, of the original Pirates trilogy and Rango, has signed on to direct.  It’s been in development since 2007.
  • John Carpenter will score the new Halloween: Along with producing the new movie by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride, Carpenter will return to either amplify the original score or create something totally new.  Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross just released their own take on the Halloween theme as well.
  • Vicor Garber leaving Legends of Tomorrow: One half of Firestorm, Victor Garber aka Dr. Martin Stein is leaving Legends of Tomorrow sometime this season to return to Broadway for a revival of Hello Dolly!  It’s not clear who will form the other half of Firestorm after he leaves but the show’s time travel shenanigans could possibly bring back Robbie Amell, who played Ronnie Raymond for the Arrowverse’s first Firestorm pairing.
  • Constantine appearing on Legends of Tomorrow: Speaking of Legends, Matt Ryan’s Constantine will appear on the show for a two episode arc this season that will tie into the new season’s big bad and possibly also tie into or kick off his animated CW Seed series as well.
  • Josh Boone adapting The Talisman: Stephen King has possibly never been hotter than right now and the studios are all scrambling to get adaptations in the pipeline and New Mutants director Josh Boone has signed to adapt The Talisman for Amblin Entertainment.  The Talisman follows a kid who gains the ability to travel a parallel world and goes on a quest to save his dying mother.  Boone is also working on a new version of The Stand and Revival, another King story.
  • Power Rangers live show coming in 2018: The Power Rangers are coming to a city near you in 2018 for a traveling stage show to celebrate 25 years of the franchise.  The show will be based around the most current iteration, Power Rangers Ninja Steel.
  • Stallone directing Creed 2: Rocky himself will be going back behind the camera to direct the upcoming sequel to Creed.  Creed director Ryan Coogler was thought to possibly be returning but duties with Black Panther and other projects seem to have prevented his return.  Stallone has directed Rocky II, III, IV and Rocky Balboa.  Creed 2 is most likely shooting next year and will probably be a 2019 release.
