The Pull List – Killers #1

The covert MI6 Ninja Programme produced an elite squad of spies and assassins who all followed a code of conduct for queen and country. Each one of them followed the teachings of the Jonin, the mystical ninja master that went into hiding. Now the Jonin has returned and is seeking his former pupils to assist him in a personal matter. But a heavy-armed group is after the ninjas, forcing the silent warriors into the open.  When danger surrounds these deadly killers, anyone and everyone can be the next target.

Ninjas from the MI6 program are one of the deadliest assets the organization ever produced. Trained to be a living weapon, these agents took on challenging missions when no one else could. These Ninja agents fought until they were killed or retired, with a few choosing to hide from the world. When Desdemona Rush, formerly known as Ninja-G, is exposed back to the public, she does not take kindly be back on MI6’s radar. An incident has Ninja-G on a path of revenge and the Jonin offers her a chance to get it. She is thrown back into the spy game but she is not the only one. Roger Thorpe, codename Ninja-J, is enjoying his time in Italy when he is attacked by masked gunmen. He quickly takes out the assassins and also gets an invitation from the Jonin. He follows along with Jonin’s plan in order to figure out who has ordered the assassination attempt.

When the mission is personal, there is no line that can’t be crossed for elite ninja agents. This first issue is an action-packed thriller, filled with lighting fast martial art moves and mystic powers. B. Clay Moore wastes no time to bring the action straight to the opening pages. Like a spy movie, this story has an international setting that sees characters jump around the world, hunting for clues and running into trouble. Moore also introduces some supernatural elements to the story by exploring more of the mystic arts taught by the Jonin. Ninja-J reveals his incredible ability to withstand destructive hits with his Ki, and the series will explore the other agent’s abilities later on. Fernando Dagnino and José Villarrubia artwork are stunning. The action sequences are intense and bloody, showing the chaos and all the collateral damage in great detail.
