One of the big movies for next spring is the sequel to 300, Rise of an Empire. Following the deaths of Leonidas and the Spartans, Queen Gorgo (Lena Headey) tries to rally Greece to unite and fight of the hordes of Xerxes while Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) unleashes his ruthless naval commander, Artemisia (Eva Green), to attack and conquer Greece. Greek hero Themistocles (Sulivan Stapleton) leads the Greeks in their defense. Zack Snyder is only producing, as his attention his focused on the lynchpin of the DC Cinematic Universe that is Batman vs Superman and little known director Noam Murro is stepping in behind the camera, but was definitely told to be as Snyderesque as possible and the movie seems like it will be full of the hyper-violence and slow motion of the first movie, although this one is centered around massive naval battles. It’s out in March and you can check out the new trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
