Getting overlooked in the wake of action stars like Seagal and Norris, Kenpo black belt Jeff Speakman made his acting debut in 1991’s The Perfect Weapon, which Zach, Chris and Joe just happened to check out for the latest Everything Action Commentary. Speakman plays Jeff Sanders, a construction worker with a hidden marital arts past who gets called back to his old neighborhood by his friend Kim and then gets caught up in investigating Kim’s murder by the Korean mafia. Almost every Asian actor you can think of co-stars in this wonderfully cheesy 90’s action flick including James Hong, Mako, Dante Basco, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and Professor Toru Tanaka. It also features a young Mariska Hargitay, who literally has 0 lines in the movie. The entire movie has been uploaded multiple times to YouTube and the one the guys watched for the commentary is below, so sync them up and get ready for some awesome Kenpo action.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
