The evolution of AI continues to be mined this year in movies as A24 brings us Ex Machina. Starring Oscar Issac as a reclusive, genius tech CEO Nathan Bateman, and Domnhall Gleeson as Caleb, a programmer who wins the opportunity to visit Bateman’s mansion and learns Bateman wants him conduct a Turing test against his crowning achievement, the super advanced robot, Ava (Alicia Vikander). Things look to get messy and complicated as Ava seems to show true emotions and the men start to turn against each other about how to properly handle her. The movie is the directorial debut of Alex Garland, who wrote 28 Days Later and Sunshine for Danny Boyle. The movie is out on April 10, 2015 and you can check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
