2015’s Goosebumps was not really what old school Goosebumps fans wanted as it haphazardly threw a bunch of random monsters together with a scenery chewing Jack Black pulling double duty as RL Stine and the evil ventriloquist dummy Slappy but it apparently made enough of an impact for Sony to make a sequel, Haunted Halloween, which arrives this coming October. Slappy returns when Caleel Harris (Castle Rock) and Jeremy Ray Taylor (IT Chapter 1) discover a hidden book in the old Stine house and it unleashes Slappy back into our world along with a new roster of spooky creatures, including deadly gummy bears. Madison Iseman (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) joins the duo in fighting off the monsters and Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ken Jeong and Chris Parnell co-star as well. It looks like pretty much the same schtick as the first Goosebumps, although it probably won’t have the same bizarre twist as the first one, where one of the characters is secretly a Goosebumps book creation without realizing it. Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween arrives on October 12th and you can check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
