The King of the Monsters returns after 2014’s excellent reboot of Godzilla from Gareth Edwards with three of his most iconic fellow Kaiju emerging in next year’s sequel. The monster hunting agency Monarch has their hands full as Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidrah emerge in the wake of Godzilla’s attack/defense of San Fransisco and they and the US military try to determine if they are all here to destroy us or if some might be here to help (Pro Tip: Ghidrah is probably not friendly). Godzilla seems to be transitioning even further into his role as Earth’s defender and seems to have some sort of connection to Millie Bobby Brown’s character. Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, O’Shea Jackson Jr, Bradley Whitford, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins and Ziyi Zhang round out the human cast and the movie is directed by Michael Dougherty, who brought us Trick R Treat and Krampus. It’s out on May 31st next year and you can check out the new trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
