Blue Beetle Joins the DC Universe in August (Trailer)
The current DC Universe is dying in the most painful way possible, with back-to-back disasters in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash. The odds are stacked against it but maybe Blue Beetle can lessen the pain when it comes out in August, especially as it’s being set up as the first character in the new DC Universe being built by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Cobra Kai’s Xolo Maridueña stars as Jaime Reyes, who becomes the host to the Scarab, a powerful alien entity that grants him incredible armor and weapon capabilities, but also has a mind of its own. While Jaime is excited to explore his new powers, he and his family are soon in danger from the ruthless Victoria Cord (Susan Sarandon), who wants the Scarab for herself at any cost. Raoul Max Trujillo plays Indestructible Man and Adriana Barraza, Damián Alcázar, Harvey Guillén, Becky G, George Lopez, Belissa Escobedo and Bruna Marquezine co-star. Angel Manuel Soto, who directed Charm City Kings, is directing the movie. Blue Beetle is out on August 18th and you can check out the new trailer below.
