With Saw X out this coming weekend (and our Saw II commentary this week), it seems like the perfect time to highlight Mudvayne’s “Forget to Remember”, which was featured on the Saw II soundtrack. Saw X is set between Saw and Saw II, the latter of which found Jigsaw playing a game with Detective Matthews (Donnie Wahlberg) as well as Matthews’ son Danny (Erik Knudsen), who is trapped in a booby trap-filled house for a different game with seven other people. Featuring some of the most disturbing traps in the entire Saw franchise (hello pit of needles!), the movie was the first movie directed by future franchise veteran Darren Lynn Bousman, who would later direct Saw III, IV, and Spiral. Mudvayne met with Bousman early on in production when they learned “Forget to Remember” would be featured in the movie and he showed the band the opening trap sequence. He directed the music video for the song, which was shot on the production sets for Saw II and features clips from the movie. You can check it out below and come back later this week for our Saw II commentary.
