Everything Action Theater: Archie’s Weird Mysteries
Before Riverdale took the Archie gang in dark and weird directions on The CW, they were solving all kinds of supernatural and paranormal phenomena on the 1999 animated series, Archie’s Weird Mysteries. Heavily influenced by The X-Files, Archie’s Weird Mysteries cast Archie Andrews (Andrew Rannells) as an investigative reporter for the school paper. Odd occurrences were constantly occurring in Riverdale in the series and Archie, and the rest of the gang like Jughead (Chris Lundquist), Betty (America Young), Veronica (Camille Schmidt) and Reggie (Paul Sosso), would investigate. The series originally aired on the PAX network as one of their original shows but it eventually came to syndication in 2001. The complete series was released on DVD by Mill Creek and it’s also available to stream on Paramount+ and Prime Video.
