Zac Efron Enters the Squared Circle in The Iron Claw (Trailer)
Zac Efron enters the ring in December to play the legendary Kevin Von Erich in the upcoming A24 biopic, The Iron Claw. The son of Fritz Von Erich (Holt McCallany), himself a legendary wrestler and founder of the World Class Championship Wrestling, Kevin and his brothers were raised from birth to be wrestlers but also with a “Von Erich Curse” of personal demons and tragic events that haunt the family. Jeremy Allen White plays Kerry Von Erich with Harris Dickinson playing David Von Erich and Stanley Simons playing Mike Von Erich. Maura Tierney plays the Von Erich matriarch, Doris, and Lily James plays Kevin’s wife, Pamela. Other legendary wrestlers like Ric Flair (Aaron Dean Eisenberg), The Sheik (Chavo Guerrero Jr.), Gino Hernandez (Ryan Nemeth), and Bruiser Brody (Cazzey Louis Cereghino) appear in the movie as well. Sean Durkin, who previously directed Martha Marcy May Marlene and The Nest, directs the movie. It seems like if you are a fan of The Wrestler, you are going to appreciate The Iron Claw, possibly even more so since this is based on actual people and events. The Iron Claw arrives in theaters on December 22nd and you can check out the trailer below.
