Jake Johnson Joins a Most Dangerous Game in Self Reliance (Trailer)
The Most Dangerous Game has been mined for almost a century since the original short story was published and Jake Johnson is the latest creator to put his spin on the premise with Hulu’s Self Reliance. Johnson plays Tommy Walcott, who is randomly approached by Andy Samberg (playing himself) to participate in a dark web reality competition. Tommy will be hunted for 30 days by killers looking to murder him but the catch is that they can only kill him if he’s alone. If Tommy can survive the 30 days, he’ll receive $1 million. Taking on the challenge, Tommy starts hiring an eclectic group of characters to “shadow” him so that he is never alone. He eventually meets Maddy (Anna Kendrick), who is also playing the game and they decide to team up. Christopher Lloyd, GaTa, Natalie Morales, Mary Holland, Emily Hampshire, Boban Marjanović, Biff Wiff and Wayne Brady co-star. Johnson also wrote and directed the movie along with starring in it and The Lonely Island is producing it. Self Reliance will arrive on Hulu on January 12th and you can check out the trailer below.
