Aubrey Plaza Enters the LA Criminal Underworld in Emily the Criminal (Trailer)
Debuting at Sundance to rave reviews earlier this year, Emily the Criminal arrives in August. Aubrey Plaza stars as Emily Benetto, who is saddled with a large amount of student loan debt and is unable to find work due to a minor criminal record. She gets recruited to be a “dummy shopper”, who goes into stores and purchases items with stolen credit cards and the thrill and cash push her deeper into the world of crime in Los Angeles. Theo Rossi, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Gina Gershon, Jonathan Avigdori, Bernardo Badillo, and Brandon Sklenar co-star with the movie directed and written by John Patton Ford in his directorial debut. The movie opens on August 12th and you can check out the trailer below.
