The Dark Side of Nature Returns in July with Twisters (Trailer)
Almost 30 years since the original Twister hit theaters, the spiritual sequel Twisters brings the “dark side of nature” back to theaters in July. Daisy Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a scientist brought in when a once-in-a-century storm system generates multiple tornadoes. Kate had developed a way to possibly disrupt and disperse a twister, using what seems like a version of the “Dorothy” tech from the original movie, but her one field test failed spectacularly. The outbreak of twisters also brings in celebrity storm chaser Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), who offers to help Kate get another shot at her technology. Lots of destruction ensues. The original Twister is a cult 90s classic that had, at the time, cutting-edge effects and a stacked cast of character actors, and hopefully, Twisters will come close to capturing some of that magic.
