Mortal Kombat Gets Animated With Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge (Trailer)
As the new live-action Mortal Kombat movie gets under production, Warner Bros is bringing us an animated take on the fighting franchise as well with the R rated Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge. Seemingly retelling the story of the original Mortal Kombat, the movie stars Joel McHale as Johnny Cage, Jennifer Carpenter as Sonya Blade, Jordan Rodrigues as Scorpion, Steve Blum as Sub-Zero and Artt Butler as Shang Tsung. The movie is directed by Ethan Spaulding, who directed the excellent Assault on Arkham animated film and it seems to be taking the DC Animated universe’s lead and appealing to a more mature audience with all the violent Mortal Kombat fights and fatalities intact. The movie arrives sometime this spring and you can check out the trailer below.
