Adapting his own novel, Michael Crichton wrote and directed the historical heist movie The Great Train Robbery, where Sean Connery and Donald Sutherland scheme to rob a massive gold shipment from the train that is used to transport it monthly to the soldiers fighting the Crimean War in 1855.
