Dunkirk took the top spot at the box office this weekend, giving Christopher Nolan the fourth best opening of his career between Inception and Batman Begins.
Spider-Man: Homecoming had a gigantic opening weekend, with the 2nd best opening for a Spider-Man movie and the seventh best opening for the MCU at $117 million.
Despicable Me 3 took the top spot at the box office but was down from the two prior movies in the series while Baby Driver outperformed expectations and The House bombed.

Cars 3 took the number one spot over the weekend, despite one of the lowest ever openings for Pixar, while Rough Night tanked and All Eyez On Me and 47 Meters Down were surprisingly strong in their debuts.
Wonder Woman remained on the top of the charts while The Mummy failed in the US but seems like a hit everywhere else, giving Tom Cruise his biggest ever worldwide opening.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales took the top spot at the box office but only topped Curse of the Black Pearl as far as openings while The Rock suffered his first flop in a long time in Baywatch, which was defeated by Guardians Vol. 2 in it’s fourth weekend of release.
Alien: Covenant managed to just barely beat Guardians Vol. 2 at the box office but it’s opening was way down from Prometheus’ opening back in 2012.
Guardians Vol. 2 remained at the top of the box office for another weekend while King Arthur suffered a massive disaster of an opening which could potentially lose WB over $150 million.
