Everyone seems to be trying to cram their movie into the end of summer 2019 as most weekends this month have 4 to 5 movies opening, including Hobbs & Shaw, Angel Has Fallen, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Dora and The Lost City of Gold, 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, Ready or Not and more.
August 2018 closes out the summer with an eclectic mix of movies from Jason Statham vs a giant shark in The Meg to R-rated Muppets in The Happytime Murders, the latest Marky Mark action movie Mile 22, the internet’s favorite horror icon Slender Man and much more.
Summer 2017 closes out in dramatic fashion, in that there are a ton of dramas hitting this month that you normally see later in the fall but, there’s still some typical summer blockbusters with The Dark Tower, Logan Lucky and The Hitman’s Bodyguard.
Summer 2016 closes out with possibly one of the biggest movies of the year, the highly anticipated Suicide Squad, along with the new Mechanic movie from Jason Statham, another rebooted Disney classic, a remake of a legendary Charlton Heston movie and more.
August is jam packed with action from the like of Guardians of the Galaxy, Sin City and, of course, Expendables 3 but there’s also tons of counter-programming as well.
Summer 2013 closes out with a couple of highly anticipated movies, Elysium and The World’s End, along with some YA adaptations, conspiracy thrillers and comic book adaptations
The Summer of Action goes out with a bang with The Expendables 2, Total Recall and The Bourne Legacy all coming out this month.
